Systems Admin and Applications Manager

Olympia Events is undergoing a period of change. In 2017, the venue was bought by a consortium led by Yoo Capital and Deutsche Finance international. Work is currently underway to transform the wider estate into a cultural hub of which Olympia Events will be the central part. Job Purpose:
- To provide technical support and maintenance to the business and its customers as directed by the Head of IT.
- Implement server, network, and software configurations for cloud computing infrastructure and applications with a focus on DevOps principles (MS Azure). Monitor systems performance.
- Proactively support the business to seek, test and implement applications/tools/software/hardware that enables the business to become more efficient using technology.
- Develop an understanding of changing business needs, in assessing the business impact of those and support communication and delivery of those requirements.
This job will be based in Olympia but may require visiting other sites. It will also require some out of hours work on occasion.
Key responsibilities
- To provide 1st and 2nd line support to all company users and clients as directed via the service desk following sound incident, problem and change management processes (configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting).
- Ensuring good customer service is provided and calls are completed within the corresponding SLAs.
- Engage and collaborate with users and stakeholders.
- Completing PC and server builds and administration duties.
- Monitoring systems, logs, all servers and key IT services.
- Assisting with any DR, or Business Continuity testing and in any live situations. Assisting with backups and restores.
- Providing Active directory management services and ensuring all entries and changes are carried out following best practice.
- Providing M365 (Office 365 / OneDrive / Azure / InTune) support on this platform and ensuring that best practices are followed and server health is monitored and maintained.
- Momentus (Ungerboeck) application support and training
- Momentus (Ungerboeck) transition of system changes (versions and bespoke updates)
- Maintain & create Crystal Reports.
- Liaise with Software Support following analysis of identified issues.
- Maintain system tables (i.e. price lists, resources, dashboards, vat tables…)
- Add / retire users with appropriate security.
- Assisting with telephony and smart phone services and troubleshooting where relevant.
- Maintaining all relevant documentation regularly.
- Maintain all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems
- Assist in the enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for system security administration and user system access based on industry-standard best practices.
- Liaising with third party suppliers to ensure contracted services are delivered.
- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.
Person specification
Skills, experience and behaviours
- Highly proficient in M365 / Azure
- VMWare management.
- Active Directory administration.
- SAN Storage management knowledge.
- SentinalOne Anti-Virus knowledge preferable with End point solution knowledge including encryption.
- Experience with Momentus (Ungerboeck) administration
- SQL Server management and a good understanding of Master Tables
- Good ITIL practice.
- Experience in working with 3rd party managed service contracts.
- Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills of the above.
- VOIP
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
Knowledge of the below would be an advantage
- LANDesk / SysAid
- CCNA / Cisco CallManager
- FortiGate Admin
- Business Analysis (ISEB)
- Project management
- iPhone support knowledge.
