THE ROLE
The Senior Commercial Analyst plays a key role in driving business profitability and performance on behalf of Legends/ASM clients by analyzing financial and operational data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights. This position collaborates closely with key internal and external stakeholders across the organization to optimize decision-making, support strategic initiatives, and ensure the commercial success of projects and products.
The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute professional with strong business judgment, analytical skills, and a proactive mindset. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role requiring the ability to influence, lead, and collaborate with diverse teams. The role based in Madrid.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
> Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Lead the preparation of detailed financial reports, forecasts, and models.
- Analyse and interpret financial and non-financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance.
- Conduct comprehensive research on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
- Evaluate client performance against competitors and market benchmarks.
- Champion the use of data analytics and visualization tools for better insights.
> Strategic Planning:
- Partner with business leaders to develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, pricing strategies, and investment opportunities.
- Evaluate the financial implications of business decisions and provide recommendations.
- Evaluate potential investment opportunities using techniques such as discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, ROI, and IRR.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential financial exposures and mitigation strategies.
> Business Partnering:
- Work closely with internal and client facing business / department leaders to provide commercial insights.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, contributing to business planning and decision-making.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and actionable format.
> Project Management Support:
- Contribute to cross-functional strategic projects and initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations, reports, and documentation for key stakeholders.
> Collaboration and Communication:
- Partner with internal and client department leaders to align strategies and ensure data-driven execution.
- Clearly communicate complex analysis and insights in a concise, actionable manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in commercial strategy, consulting, operations.
- Full professional fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and business valuation techniques
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Adept at establishing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
